Wyatt McCubbin Debuts in Chicago & Joe's on Weed St.

Singer/Songwriter Wyatt McCubbin came to Chicago with something to say! He was a last-minute addition to The Josh Abbott show at Joe’s on Weed St. Joe’s has a reputation & making your debut in Chicago & at Joe’s on Weed is on a lot of artist bucket lists. A 45-minute acoustic set by Wyatt didn't disappoint. Chicago can be a tough crowd to win over, but Wyatt had no trouble doing that. The second song of the night is a cut he had with Cody Johnson called "Honky Tonk Hardwood Floors" which got the Joe's on Weed St. crowd moving toward the stage. Currently signed to 50 Egg Music, Wyatt has been releasing hits for a while now. Other artists who have cut his songs include Riley Green, Brent Cobb, Jake Worthington, Jacob Bryant & Kenton Bryant. Wyatt even mentioned and sang a recent cut off of Tracy Lawrence's latest album.

In 2021, Rowdy on the Row featured Wyatt and he blew us away with the song "The Devil Don't Scare Me" by Texas artist Josh Ward. The fans were thrilled when Wyatt performed this song. Among the songs he played are "Tearin' Down Memories" & "I Can't Count That High". “I Can’t Count That High” was co-written with Casey Beathard & Jonathan Singleton, who are both elite songwriters in Nashville. Wyatt even introduced this song as one that he is very excited about, he has a special tune on his hand with this cut. One song that stood out to us was a new one that Wyatt teased called “Whatever Willie’s Having”. It was right up our Alley, & I’m sure you can guess what part of the song is about. He said he is hoping to release it soon, and we can’t wait. It’s a fun upbeat song that would be perfect for a late April release.

Wyatt told us that he and Josh Abbott have been talking about writing together for a little bit, & Chicago seemed like the best time for that write to finally happen. He did tease that the write was successful and hopes Josh releases it. Overall, Wyatt took his 45-Minute acoustic set and earned many new Chicago fans. He kept everyone hanging on with his stories & lyrics. Let’s hope Wyatt is not a stranger to Chicago & he comes back soon with his arsenal of hits. On Monday, February 7th, he will be on the podcast to talk about his journey. Make sure you listen in * Connect his Melodies with Memories.
